Que sera, sera
Whatever will be for the Capital High volleyball team, will be.
All that matters to the Lady Jaguars is what they do on the court, and they survived and advanced to the District 2AAAA semifinal after a 17-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-10 win over Bernalillo in Edward A. Ortiz Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday.
Capital, the third seed, needed a couple of games before finding its rhythm, and the No. 4 Lady Spartans never mounted a serious challenge after that.
"Part of it was just hustle," Lady Jaguars head coach Natalie Garcia said of what changed. "Part of it was minimizing the miscommunication and errors coming off of those."
Stephanie Oellien hit her stride with 17 kills, while Ashley Sorensen added five blocks.
Capital (9-12) plays Española Valley in the semifinal Thursday at 7 p.m.
