From The Santa Fe New Mexican:

July 19, 1908: Gov. George Curry went this morning via the Santa Fe Central to Estancia on a special train. The governor was accompanied by Robert Law, president of the railroad. Ex-Gov. M.A. Otero Sr. was also one of the party.

July 19, 1983: Sangre de Cristo Water Co. customers should not have to pay for the company's proposed acquisition of the Sol y Lomas subdivision water system, a Metropolitan Water Board member said. Sol y Lomas developer Allen Stamm and water company officials are negotiating the possible sale of the system. The water company is seeking approval from the water board to continue sale negotiations. About 29 households in the Sol y Lomas area now are served by the small, independent water system built in 1949. Sangre de Cristo manager Bill Hicks said that absorbing Sol y Lomas system would reduce the drain on the water table in that area.
